S O Q U I C H E

You know when Gretchen Wieners was trying to make fetch happen?! This eyeshadow is basically the equivalent, except it totally does happen!

Colourpop is becoming one of my favorite shadow brands for many reasons! Despite their different texture (they are more of a mousse) which takes some time getting comfortable with, these babies won't break the bank, pack amazing pigment, and come in an array of different finishes.

A smokey eye is my go-to for a night out, it's sexy, fun, and I love how incorporating a metallic gives this look a more summery feel. For this look, I packed so quiche on top of a cream black liner. Doing this gives the shadow something to stick to, resulting in a more intense finish.

I wanted to bring out the reflects of this shadow by using a matte rich brown to blend out the crease and lower lash-line. Green and red are opposites on the color wheel, so not only does the warmth of the matte shadow pull the warmness of the pink violet in the green shadow, but compliments with it's chestnut undertones as well.

To tie the whole look together, I finished off with a highlight and gloss that also reflected the same pink violet tones as the eyeshadow!

p.s.-- I've found the easiest way to apply these Coloupop shadows is with your finger or a flat synthetic brush. Be sure to close the lid tightly after each use. Trust me, I ruined a few by leaving them open for too long!

May Top 5 Beauty Favs

How are we already half way through 2016!?!?!
May you enjoy these products just as much as I did!

*all product pics are linked

Colourpop Cosmetics, Supershock Shadow- So Quiche:
If you haven't jumped on the Coloupop train, I seriously don't know what rock you've been sleeping under! I seemed to pick this shade up every time I wanted to rock a super glam smokey eye. An olive shade that reflects gold and pink, making your eyelids sparkle with every metallic blink! Basically, these shadows are amazing and won't put a dent in your wallet- they retail for only $5!

NYX, Dewy Finish Setting Spray:
I'm typically not a huge fan of setting sprays, but I was loving this NYX one last month for a different reason-priming the skin! I drowned my face in this before makeup application, and it not only prolonged wear, but gave me a dewy, glowing from within look.

Benefit, Hello Flawless! Oxygen Foundation:
I've recently been on a hunt for a new foundation, and this one seemed to make the cut in May. I don't know why it took me so long to actually try this foundation, because anything Benefit creates is cute! A build-able, light to medium coverage that literally melts into the skin, resulting in a flawless bright finish.

Ole Henriksen, Pure Perfection Moisturizer:

Yep, another Ole product. Seriously, this line is one of my holy grails for skincare! Packed with antioxidants like lemon extract, primrose oil, and vitamin c to help hydrate and protect against environmental damage; along with AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids) to exfoliate and increase cell turnover. This night cream will have your skin feeling baby soft in the am, while working miracles when you sleep.

St. Moriz, Instant Self-Tanner- Dark:
It's that time of the year, and since my skin naturally takes all summer to get a glow I rely on self tanners! This one is bomb and gives you a gorgeous brown color. To me, it does have a hint of that "self tanner" smell, and I layer two coats to get my desired darkness, but other than that this tanner gives me a natural looking tan that fades evenly within a week. I personally apply mine with a mitt, for it does have a color guard that washes off in the am.

Pool Party Glam & Essentials

This past weekend was Memorial Day, and even though I was living it up with the girl gang, hitting various bbq's and posing by the pool my glam was still bronzed and beaming!

Now would I typically lounge poolside in a full face of glam? Probably not, but it was a holiday weekend so I traded in my hat and chapstick for chic braids, cc cream, and a few other key products!

CC Cream: These are ideal for the pool for they provide more coverage than a bb cream, but less than a foundation, giving your skin a clean flawless look. Plus this one from It Cosmetics has anti-aging ingredients, in addition to providing hydration and sun protection with a spf of 50+!

Waterproof mascara and brows: Because these cannot melt off.

Cream and powder highlight and bronzer: Personally, I went for both kinds of highlight because I want the pool water to reflect off my cheekbones, and opted for a powder bronzer.
Stila's stay all day bronzer is perfect for those pool days and nights, for it is fade and water resistant, while it's terra-cotta color brings warmth to the face and body.
For my metallic glow, I pretty much used every shade in Anastasia's Gleam glow kit, on top of Benefit's Watts Up!

To ensure makeup lasts through the night, and to provide even more of a glow, I finished this look with NYX's dewy finish setting spray.
